David Tutera is Everywhere!

A successful Wedding show on WeTV, six books, a gown line with Faviana, an accessory line at Jo-Ann’s Fabrics, and a new jewelry line at Sears, David Tutera is making a run for Martha Stewart territory.

Talks to WED

WED: How did you get into the event industry? What inspired you?

Growing up, I worked with my grandfather in his floral shop which is where my love of arranging flowers began. Eventually I started own retail shop and it was my window displays that got people talking about my ability to transform a space. I was hired at first to do the décor for smaller parties, which led to larger parties and weddings and naturally evolved into the planning and production end of both as well...it really was an evolution into an industry that I absolutely love.

WED The Magazine

WED caught up with David in between his many appearances and the filming of My Fair Wedding, to ask him about his latest projects and see if he could offer our readers some advice for their weddings.

WED: What was your first high profile/ celebrity event?

I would say that being asked to do the annual NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) party for the fortieth annual Grammy Awards was the first time I felt that I had truly ―made it!‖ It was a special night for me, and an amazing party, a memory I still cherish to this day.

WED: You seem to be everywhere these days – books, TV, speaking engagements, your own gown collection for Faviana —
