Cool Stuff

During your photo session, embrace the environment. Forget about the photographer and be the couple you have always been. Not only will your photos come out authentic to who you are, but the photographer will be able to capture twice as many pictures since they don't have to stop and direct your motions.

Remember, your engagement pictures are about your love story. They will journey with you throughout the ages, so it is important to think about what you want to wear before you venture out with your photographer.

In order to capture the true spark, think about your story and ask yourself “Are my clothes sending the same message?” Then, dress accordingly.

Be Prepared to Laugh and Cry

A key element to having engagement photos that capture your authentic love is to make sure you share your personality with your photographer. Don't be afraid to share your 'real' you with the photographer. If the photographer doesn’t really get to know you then he or she isn’t going to get unique images that represent your personality and that capture your love.

Here are a few things to share with your photographer prior to your engagement photos:

 Background information – The story of how you met, the experience of your first date, and the details of the proposal.

 Personalities – Share a little about what makes you unique. Are you sarcastic and quick witted or quiet and shy?

 What you love about your significant other – What is the one thing you love most about your better half? Is it that look they give you right before they do something devious or maybe even the smell of their hair?

What Will You Wear?

Most brides-to-be look amazing for their engagement photo shoots, as do their fiancés. What I’m talking about has nothing to do with wearing dirty clothes and not brushing your hair. It’s about taking the time to think about what your wardrobe says about you now and what it will tell others about you on your 20th anniversary.
