Work Outs Here, There or Anywhere…

Working out to Get Ready for the Gown while taking care of your seemingly never-ending wedding to- do list tasks can be daunting. So instead of stressing over how you’re going to fit in your workouts, try my simple plan of action which is based on these two important principles:

1. Plan your day around your workout. Treat exercise like an appointment on your calendar. If you work a 9 to 5 job, then fill an empty slot either before or after work. If you spend your day running from appointment to appointment, then find a hole in your day and “book” your exercise. It doesn’t have to be more complex than this.

2. Exercising doesn’t have to be a 2 hour event to be effective. There are so many great moves you can fit in at the gym, on your lunch break or even at home. If you make the commitment to work out consistently, even for a few minutes at a time, you will stay on track for your big day.

Ten minute quick- fix routines a few times daily are all you need. Short cardio blasts with a toning move can jumpstart calorie burn and while strengthening your muscles. Oldies but goodies like jumping jacks,

high knees jogging in place, rear heel kicks and cross country ski moves are effective cardio exercises you can incorporate into your daily routine. Lunges, side to side squats, standing side leg lifts and calve raises are toning moves that round out your workout. Don’t be afraid to mix it up by alternating these moves throughout your week to keep workout boredom away!

No excuses allowed. Be prepared to work out no matter how crazy your schedule gets. In the beginning of your week, pack a gym bag with workout clothes, sneakers, hair ties and a towel to keep in your car for workouts on the run. And don’t forget your water!

So take it easy between your ears. Just make up your mind to get into action a few minutes at a time, a couple of times each day and you will stay on track while Getting Ready For the Gown.
