Eco-friendly ideas for your wedding WED the Magazine is happy to support the Naples Botanical
Gardens Wedding Give-Away. This eco-friendly and beautiful location will be the setting for a dream wedding on 11-11-11.
The Naples Botanical Garden has selected the lucky couple for its Dream Destination Wedding Giveaway — Princess Moody and Gabriel Davis! The wedding for 75 guests at the Garden (valued at more than $70,000) is set for November 11, 2011 (11-11-11).
About the winning couple:
The couple met through an AmeriCorps program one summer doing work at the same Cincinnati nonprofit that provided assistance for those with health challenges. The cause was one that hit close to home for Princess. After losing her father and trying to care for a disabled mother, Princess admitted she hadn't been looking for love, but found it, none-the-less, in Gabriel as they spent more and more time working together.
"Falling in love with Gabriel was a fresh breath of air," explained Princess. "He brought happiness into my life after I had experienced so much loss and sadness."
Less than a year into the relationship, Gabriel proposed one muggy June evening in 2008 alongside the Ohio River as they gazed over the Cincinnati skyline. Their education and passion for public service, however, has remained their priority. Both are currently pursuing graduate education — Princess at Simmons College for a graduate degree in social work; Gabriel finishing up his law degree at Harvard. With the debt they accumulated in student loans, and few financial options from family, they knew they had little chance at any kind of wedding in the company of their beloved friends and family.
“We are so excited — and so grateful — to have this opportunity for a dream wedding that I never thought we’d have!” said Princess.
The Garden, along with more than 15 participating event vendors from Southwest Florida are providing the many elements necessary to create a beautiful tropical Garden wedding, from the breathtaking location and cake, to the dress and favors.
