CYC's Seattle’s Puget Sound
Spring Regatta got off to a great start on Saturday, April 16. The sixty-four boats were broken into eight classes racing on two courses. The bigger boats in Division 0, 1, 2, and 3 were on the north course. The smaller boats of Division
4, 5, 6, and 7 shared the south course. The outstanding CYC race committee started five to seven races on Saturday, and from one to three races on Sunday. The 10:00 am race start time on
Saturday coincided with the end of an ebb tide, so there would be a flood
for most of the day’s racing. We had a northerly all day, which built for most races, from 7-11 knots, to 11-14, then 14- 18 sustained, and up to max 20 knots gust, backing off and on for the last two races, when the wind got a little fluky, with oscillating shifts. At times,
