or PLS® 2 Premium Thread & Gasket Sealer for all pipe thread connections. Flare fitting are assembled clean and dry with no sealant. (Figure #1) Gauge - Mount a 0-250 PSI

(pounds per square inch) gauge before the regulator so it will read the tank pressure. The mid-range of a gauge gives the most accurate reading, i.e. LPG at 64 degrees F is close to 100 PSI. Install a pipe tee between the tank adapter and the regulator (Figure #2). You will use this gauge to provide a quick and easy way to test the system for leaks. Valve - Install an electrically

operated solenoid shut-off valve before or after the regulator, depending whether it is high or low pressure, with a short hose between them. (Figure #3) Mount the control panel close to the stove or other appliance so you can get to it without reaching over the top of any open flame, e.g., stove burners. Supply line - Use UL listed LP Gas

Hose in a continuous run from the LPG tank compartment to each appliance without any fitting in between - one line/one appliance. Metallic tubing can be used, but we do not recommend it

because of the difficulty of installation and impracticality for gimbaled appliances. One limitation of hose is that it should not be run in the engine compartment. The end fittings must be a swaged

sleeve or a sleeve and threaded insert type, not hose barbs with hose clamps (Figure #4). Where the hose passes through the deck or watertight

bulkhead, a watertight fitting is used (Figure #5). The hose needs to be secured with non-corrosive straps and protected from physical damage. When passing through partitions, the edges of the hole are softened, typically with a grommet or a short length of hose around the LPG hose. If the hose goes to a gimbaled stove, there needs to be sufficient length to allow a free swing. Vented Containment - LPG lockers

are installed so that the locker opens only directly to the outside atmosphere, and, if it is installed inside a boat locker, it is as high and as close to the boat locker’s opening as possible. Valves need to be convenient for quick operation, and the system pressure gauge fully visible. The lockers must have a vent at the bottom that is at least 1/2” inside diameter. The vent leads directly overboard, exiting the hull at a point lower than the locker bottom and above the waterline with the boat in the static floating position. Locker vent openings are located at least 20 inches from any opening to the interior so escaping gas will not flow inside the vessel. Finally, only store items in the locker that are connected to your
