WSMA Middle Level State Honors Project
Results of the WSMA Middle Level State Honors Project auditions held in April will be reviewed by the selection committee, with results letters and invitations to be mailed by June 1. Selection committee members include Doug Arndt of Grafton John Long Middle School as chair, Jim Schuer of Owen-Withee Schools as past- chair; coordinators Marcie Russell of Platteville, Chris Gleason of Sun Prairie and Bob Ignaczk of Oconomowoc. Gregg Butler continues to serve as WSMA board representative.

The 2011 Middle Level State Honors staff will meet at the Wisconsin Center for Music Education in Waunakee on Friday, July 29 for its traditional summer retreat. In addition to networking with colleagues,
the retreat provides an opportunity to re- view music, staff duties and expectations, prepare student mailings and preview the student event schedule.
Jayne Glocke of Penn State University, E. Daniel Long of Ann Arbor Youth Symphony Orchestra and Dennis Glocke of Penn State University will lead the 2011 WSMA Middle Level State Honors ensembles in the October rehearsals and concert. Rehearsals will be held on Friday, October 28 at Waunakee High School. The October 29 Middle Level State Honors concert will be held at the Madison Mar- riott West Conference Center in Madison beginning at 1 p.m.

x WSMA Festival News
Each year, volunteer service leads to the success of WSMA Festivals. From office personnel to room monitors, concession workers and results runners – numerous volunteers and hundreds of volunteer hours are required in hosting a successful festival.
Leading and organizing the events are the festival managers. Colleagues, student participants, parents and family of student partici- pants, adjudicators and the WSMA office staff appreciate their leadership and dedication.
