10 Emii feat.

Snoop Dogg, ‘Mr. Romeo’ If you like Lady Gaga, you’re going to love Emii, who is the latest ‘IT girl’ to come out of the USA. She shot to fame after her first single ‘Magic’ and she’s kicking off the year with a collaboration with none other than Snoop Dogg! This video is just a sample of massive things to come, it’s almost fly on the wall footage. With her rocky vocals and feisty attitude were liking it.

Snoop Dogg, ‘New Year’s Eve feat Marty James’ The King of partying like a rock star Snoop celebrates the New Year in style, and we certainly took note. The video is as slick as ever, shot in crisp black and white and oozing living the high life, champagne, limousines and yes of course you guessed it... women!

Willow

Smith, ‘Whip My Hair’ Will Smith Junior has massive shoes to fill, and she kicks 2011 off by making herself well and truly known. She’s just been signed to Jay Z’s label Roc Nation, and as annoying as this song is, it’s SO damn catchy! The video shows Miss Smith and her girls causing may- hem at school displaying a feisty attitude along the way. However we’re pretty sure this is still Rihanna. She’s been dubbed the new Justin Beiber (Were not sure that’s a compli- ment), but this girl actually has musical talent, and great hair!

‘NeroMe & You’ 2011 hopefuls, Nero starts the year with a bang as ‘Me & You’ looks set to already be the bench mark this year. Big synths

underneath the repetitive ‘Are You Ready’ phrase makes an interesting tune and one you will want to pump through the speak- ers at every club you hit. The young D&B/ Bass Music duo from London have found the right for- mula. Well done boys.

Chipmunk feat Chris

THE GUESTLIST NETWORK | JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2011 Videos of the Month

Brown: ‘Champion’ Chipmunk and Chris Brown win their long war against critics in their new video ‘Champion’, taken from Chippy’s upcoming album ‘Transition’. They finally chose to fight back about their careers with this powerfully dra- matic track. It brushes on Brown’s fall from grace and the rise of Chip- munk’s haters. The video is largely filmed in an open field with a military feel. This tune will no doubt be BIG this year!

Merry Christmas everyone and a very Happy New Year! I hope your NYE wasn’t as overrated as mine... The build up to NYE this year was at fever pitch, people were in a frenzy and in fact, I sold over 300 tickets which is a phenomenal effort even by my standards. However, it turned out to be one of the biggest anticli- maxes of all time. Even on a par with the end of “The Happening”.

The day started well with pre- drinks in the Mayfair Hotel where there seemed to be every celebri- ty under the sun downing passion fruit martinis and ginger ale and lemon vodka cocktails. However, this quickly went downhill when we found out that the casino we had planned to spend extortion- ate amounts of money on at the roulette table was closed for a private party. I won’t mention the club in question that we ended up at as I do have a very good relationship with them however this has to be one of the worst nights I have been to in a while... I would even say in my life!

The problem with NYE is that especially at exclusive clubs the crowd is most important. I hate to sound bad but it is quantity not quality at these clubs. NYE is one of the only times of the year when the event uses pre-sold tickets. The main problem with having pre-sold tickets is that

the club has no control over who gets hold of a ticket and it is very difficult to turn someone away at the club when they have shelled out £100 on a ticket. This causes the obvious problem that you can have every Tom, Dick and Harry (emphasis on the second name in that line), turning up at the club looking to cause trouble!

I just cannot stand ‘meatheads’, as I call them, who have nothing better to do than cause problems, which is why I very rarely go club- bing at non-exclusive clubs. This may be controversial but I stand by it. The club was full of guys that were on their first time visit and thought they were P Diddy! Throwing money around and then quickly picking it up off the floor and walking around with fake gold dripping off them. It was very embarrassing...

I just had to sit back and watch about 15 pillocks try and cause fights with everyone in the club, including the toilet attendent because he wouldn’t allow them to have a 5th spray of the Paco Rabane for the 50p they chucked in the urinal.

I left at 2am back to the hotel to carry on the night there. Next year I think I’m going to go to Miami Beach. I just cannot do another London NYE, it’s too much for me.

As I am writing this I am contem- plating all the great things that are going to be happening this year. I am going to be popping down to Movida tonight for Jamelia’s birthday, so it should be a good one! Even though NYE was a bit of a (huge) disappointment, there are some big things coming up this year that I am looking forward to and as always, I will keep you up to date!

I hope you all had a better experi- ence than me and feel free to email in your disaster stories if you have any!
