bait going in to keep the rudd active and it seems to be working, as this 2 lb 4 oz fish and other back-ups prove. Duncan said: ‘I’ve been baiting

a swim on a local lake for the past two weeks with Sonubaits hemp and maggots – around a kilo of hemp and a pint of maggots every other day – and my first session produced seven quality rudd, the best this 2 lb 4 oz beauty. ‘Returning the following night l had

one of 1 lb 12 oz, then a further six the next night to 2 lb 2 oz.’ Guiding details www. duncancharman.co.uk

LAD of just five has caught one of the biggest ever barbel to a

up from the unhooking mat and was holding it when he returned. ‘He said to me: “that’s how you

hold it, the same as Fi Fi”, which is his cat,’ he added. Successful tactic for Edd, who has

just started at Carlton Central School in Nottingham, was Dynamite Baits luncheon meat hair-rigged on a size 8 barbless hook to 10 lb Daiwa Sensor line and a feeder filled with fishmeal groundbait.

EDD WREN is just five years old, yet incredibly he landed this monster 15 lb River Trent barbel. It wolfed down a cube of luncheon meat and proved far too big for the youngster to hold easily.
