AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL is a new casual game based on the successful US TV programme, which is currently shown in 170 countries worldwide.
The reality show completed its 14th series in May, with 3.7m viewers in the US tuning in to watch it. It follows a group of women competing to become the next top model and bag a career in the modeling industry.
Mastertronic – which is distributing
the Wii and DS title in the UK – says that the £24.99 SRP along with the show’s popularity will drive widespread interest in the game.
“This title has such wide appeal for the female audience and America’s Next Top Model is a huge TV hit in the UK,” Mastertronic’s international sales director James Cato tells MCV. “With a reasonable SRP and fantastic brand I can see this being an evergreen retail product.”
THE FEMALE OF THE SPECIES The game allows players to take on the role of a wannabe model who must win the 10-week contest by performing catwalks and attending photo shoots. If properly convinced by the player, the in- game jury will award high marks and allow the user to progress to more outlandish fashion shoots.
Users have to manage each of their
model’s schedules from morning to night. Models can travel to various locations and talk to others including contestants, jury members and more characters. The in-game PDA allows players to manage their tight schedule by reviewing upcoming shows, making appointments and preparing for events. There are also interactive story elements, which depend on the relationships with the other contestants, the main character’s boyfriend, and the jurors. So everything will happen differently in each game. America’s Next Top
