People of Philadelphia Join eminent social and cultural historian, Roger Lane, for a two-part series on People of Philadel- phia. The first lecture is an exploration of the immigrant experience of the Irish and the Jews in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The second lecture examines the Golden Age of Black Philadel- phia contrasted with the current times. Professor Lane is a “Distinguished Lecturer” awardee and author of numerous acclaimed publications, such as Murder in America: A History.
