Boys High School Basketball League
Our high school basketball league is for players who want to participate in a traditional open-paced league. Each team plays an eight game regular season on Sunday afternoons followed by a single-elimination tournament. League play is governed by I.H.S.A. rules and regulations with local exceptions adopted.
Balanced teams are formed based on skill, grade and school. Residentsmay register beginning Saturday, October 16 at 9:00 am. Non-residents may begin registering, October 30 at 9:00 am.
Men’s Winter Basketball
Leagues Our men’s basketball league is for players who want to participate in a traditional open-paced league. Each team plays a 10-game regular season on Monday or Tuesday nights followed by a double-elimination tournament. League play is governed by I.H.S.A. rules and regulations with local exceptions adopted.
The league fee for the 2011 season is $595 for resident teams and $695 for non-resident teams. To be considered as a resident team, 60% of team members must pay taxes to the Park District or be employed in Downers Grove. Players must submit copies of their driver’s license or employment pay stub of a company within Park District boundaries. At the time of registration a $100 deposit is due as well as a preliminary team roster, including names and addresses of all team members.
Teams may register at the Recreation Center on a first-come, first-served basis until all slots are filled. Roster forms are available online at
www.dgparks.org, at the Recreation Center or the Lincoln Center.
Registration for the league is accepted as follows:

This year there will be two separate leagues; one for competitive and one for recreational teams.

Registration deadline is Friday, December 3. All players must attend evaluation day from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 12 at the Recreation Center.
All players must complete an athletic league registration form. Forms are available online at

Adult softball is returning to McCollum Park this fall! Leagues play one evening each week for 8 weeks followed by a single elimination tournament of the top four teams. Games will be officiated following A.S.A. rules with some local exceptions adopted. League play is tentatively scheduled to begin the first week of September. Men’s 12” Rec on Tuesdays, Men’s 12” comp on Thursdays and NEW Co-Rec 12” on Thursdays.
Teams may register anytime after their priority date on a first- come, first-served basis until all slots are filled. Register as soon as possible after your priority date.
Resident Teams (teams with 60% of team members residing or employed in Downers Grove) may register beginning Monday, July 5 at 9:00 am.
Nonresident Teams may register beginning Monday, July 19 at 9:00 am.

If you do not have a full team but are interested in playing, please call the Park District at 630.960.7250 before August 15 and leave your name and phone number which will be distributed to team captains at the fall meeting.
