DuploCOLL
Lohmann is one of the few adhesive tape manufacturers worldwide covering the complete value-chain of adhesive tape solutions. The company's capabilities span from adhesive polymerisation and formulation to coating, converting and supplying intricate die-cut-parts. The group covers the market segments of Building & Construction, Consumer Goods, Transportation, Graphics, Medical Technology and Hygiene. Lohmann offers mainly customized solutions, e.g. for the photovoltaic solar energy industry, and takes care of its customers from the very first idea up to automatic applications. The company is represented worldwide with many subsidiaries and through agents in more than 50 countries.
DuploCOLL® customized solutions for the photovoltaic solar energy industry. Include: Adhesive tapes, e.g. special tapes for the framing of solar modules, special adhesive die-cuts for junction box bonding and polyimide insulating tapes for electronic power components. DuploCOLL® adhesive tapes for the framing of solar modules. To secure the laminates against mechanical loads and in order to mount them easily on the roof, these laminates are bond in an aluminium frame by using a

Large size dual junction thin-film solar modules
Masdar PV is a leading global developer of advanced thin-film photovoltaic products and solutions based on tandem- technology. Within the next few years Masdar PV aims to become a top-3 global thin-film PV company. As a first step two production facilities with a total capacity of 195 MWp are put into operation in Germany and Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Large size dual junction thin-film solar modules
Masdar PV's thin-film based PV modules are specially designed for use in open-space solar parks, or in large roof-top applications. A unique feature of our product is the size of up to

The SolaryX Edge -A Laser Edge Deletion System
The SolaryX Edge uses high power, pulsed lasers to remove amorphous silicon (a-Si), cadmium-telluride (CdTe), copper- indium-diselenide (CIS), or copper-indium-gallium-diselenide (CIGS) coatings around the perimeter of thin-film solar panels. The unique optical design makes it a lower cost, higher throughput product while occupying a significantly smaller footprint than competing laser-based systems. It also eliminates consumables which are required for other methods, such as
sandblasting, making it ideal for the global thin-film solar panel manufacturing market. As the latest addition to Newport's broad portfolio of photovoltaic manufacturing and test solutions, it joins the SolaryX family of laser scribe tools, lasers for thin-film scribing and patterning, automated PV I-V test stations, and solar simulators. SolaryX Edge systems have shipped to customers in the U.S. and are currently operational in plants manufacturing thin-film solar panels.

substrates and
the deployment of our large-surface PV modules help to significantly reduce total system costs. Among other things, fewer cables and connectors are needed. This drives down investment costs. We are also keeping assembly costs down by using back rails, specially designed to meet the requirements of our customers. Together, these factors combined provide lower levels of expenditure for each Watt of electrical power generated and ultimately lead to increased returns when considering on- grid PV installations as a financial product.
special pure acrylic double-sided adhesive tape. Is the application finished, the tape encloses the laminate in an u-bend. Using an adhesive tape during this procedure offers a lot of advantages: The tape has a defined thickness and therefore a defined quantity of the material between laminate and frame is always guaranteed. While the tape does not pollute the module, there is no cleaning necessary.
Furthermore, the application technology is less complicated and needs less servicing. As the module can be moved and packed directly after the bonding, the cycle times of the complete process can be reduced. The junction boxes of solar modules are bonded with double-sided adhesive die-cuts also, which offers similarly advantages.
DuploCOLL® IS Insulating Tapes. The electrically insulating single- and double-sided adhesive tape range is based on polyimide to protect electronic power components, e.g. for bonding and insulating "bus bars" in solar cells. The advantages are e.g. the high dielectric strength and ability to stay in form even at very high temperatures, as well as excellent chemical resistance.
