What are Brown Diamonds? Investment quality Brown diamonds are diamonds with a visually pleasant brown type of bodycolor. In the early days of the diamond industry, many brown diamonds were used in the commercial manufacturing process and very few were used in jewelry. But over the past few decades, their popularity as assets and the corresponding increase in price point has grown significantly. They are now solidly entrenched as the most popular entry point for investors entering the colored diamond market.

Brown diamonds can be among the most beautiful colored diamonds – especially when their brown color is modified by yellow, orange or red. The most attractive feature of brown diamonds is their very affordable price. Very attractive brown diamonds can often be purchased for prices that are lower than investment grade colorless diamonds of similar size and clarity, even though the Brown diamond may be 1000 times more rare in nature!

Arguably, there is no other Hard Asset that commands the attention of individuals interested in Wealth Accumulation and Asset Security than Pink Diamonds! Pink Diamonds are found only in a few countries of the world, South Africa, Brazil and Australia. They are the rarest and most sought after of all colored diamonds. The presence of color in pink diamonds remains a mystery, but it is certain that it is not derived from a predominant trace element or impurity. In the case of Argyle pink diamonds, it is thought that extraordinary pressure more than 160 kilometres below ground raised the diamonds to the surface. We have established that a twist in the crystal lattice is present in all pink diamonds, refracting light and producing color. Levels of nitrogen appear to also be important in the formation of pink colors. Although countries such as South Africa and Brazil have produced large pinks (some as large as 75 carats) the great majority are under 1 carat. Colored Diamonds are usually pastel colored (referred to in the trade as Bubblegum). In fact it was most unusual to find a deeply colored Pink, until the discovery of the Argyle mine in Australia in 1979. This new find of Argyle Super Pinks were smaller in overall size (1 carat+ is rare) but the color was unlike anything anyone had ever seen. Ranging from Intense to Deep and Vivid as well as Red, these stones immediately commanded the attention of the industry and began to establish record prices at auction.
