EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL BUSINESS CENTRES T

aking care of business is all in a day’s work for East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s business centres. Located in Bridlington, Driffield,

Beverley, Goole, Market Weighton, Brough and Hessle, the centres provide a one-stop- shop for both start-up and established businesses.

The centres offer a wide range of

services, including: • office space to let on easy-in and easy- out terms

• conference facilities • tailored support for your company development plans

• guidance with business planning and marketing

• information about tax, national insurance & VAT

• information and support in applying for potential funding

• networking opportunities and collaboration with like minded people.

The business centres have a number of different size office and workshop spaces

available to let and can be accessed 24- hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. Each centre has its own pro-active team on site, including experienced business advisers and a professional front-of-house team, to support tenants, as well as the business community.

The council's newest development, ergo,

opened its doors in early 2018 with a launch event during Humber Business Week. Situated in a prime location on the Bridgehead Business Park, in Hessle, the £4 million development is aimed at the growing renewable energy and environmental technology sectors. Operated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, in partnership with the University of Hull, ergo provides flexible modern office space and conference facilities with on-site parking. It is set to quickly establish itself as the region’s premier office space. FUTURE PROOF TECHNOLOGIES FOR HULL’S £42M REGENERATION PROJECT R

esidents of HU1 at Essex House are enjoying the region’s fastest fibre broadband, thanks to Pure Broadband and Iguana Developments. The flagship project for Pure Broadband has an exclusive fibre line plugged directly into each and every apartment and does not share bandwidth with other properties in the area. This keeps the contention ratio very low, making it capable of delivering 1Gbps to each of the forty-five top-spec apartments, future proofing the building against the inevitable improvements and enhancement of mobile devices, computers and smart TVs.

HU1 at Essex House is part of a £42m regeneration programme by Iguana Developments, the company bringing Kingston upon Thames to Kingston upon Hull, by offering young professionals a

new way of living. The ultra-high specification apartments have attracted residents who are in Hull from all around the world, on a variety of local employment contracts. Jason Coleman is the Managing

Director of Iguana Developments. He says: “We are giving young professionals with aspirational lifestyles exactly what they want, and more. Ultrafast broadband is just one of the bolt-ons we provide as well as an in-house cinema, gym, roof terrace and gaming room. Excellent connectivity is an absolute necessity and we are delighted to be Pure Broadband’s flagship project in Hull, providing the fastest speeds of any accommodation in the area, 1000Mbps.” Alan Cheshire, Director of Pure Broadband says: “Our technology is capable of delivering 1Gigabit per second

into each apartment. However the tenants of Iguana Developments have generally all chosen the 300Mbps package which is more than enough for their needs. It can download a 2-hour movie in just a few seconds and enables users to surf the internet, play games online and enjoy using the internet without the frustration of buffering.” “The Internet has been in public use

for almost 30 years, we can all remember the sound of a modem downloading data at a crawl-pace. Back then it would have been hard to imagine a full-length film appear on a flat-screen TV at the click of a mouse, but it’s happening now, the future is here.” “We have future-proofed HU1 at Essex House. 300Mbps is about the maximum that a mobile device or new laptop computer can cope with right now.”
