hepherd Chartered Surveyors is going the whole HOG to offer a landmark retail outlet in Charing Cross Glasgow, one of the city’s prime retail, licensed and leisure centres, to let.

The former Harley Davidson unit on North Street at Charing Cross has become something of a landmark over the last 17 years. As well as providing a prominent retail outlet for the iconic brand, the extensive basement floor provided a home for the Harley offices and Harley Owners’ Group (HOG) Cafe. Many passing motorists and pedestrians will also have noted the pitched pavement gazebos on warmer summer evenings. However, Sandy Lightbody (Head of

Agency – Glasgow), said: “The really unique thing about this property is that it provides superb retail/studio space fronting onto Glasgow’s busiest motorway stretch, but with a large rear workshop/industrial unit facing onto Dorset Street, with full loading capacity for HGV/articulated lorries. Overlooking the M8 motorway and benefitting from a high level of passing traffic, the 7,215 sq.ft property extends over ground and basement levels and occupies a prominent location on the west side of North Street between its junctions with St Vincent Street and Kent Road.

AQUARIUS COURT S

carborough Muir Group has sold its Aquarius Court office investment at

Queensferry One to Hamcap (Strathclyde) BP Ltd for £1.22m. The Grade A specified building,

developed speculatively by Scarborough Muir, is fully let and occupies a prime location within the £250 million Queensferry One development, which spans 120 acres and lies adjacent to Queensferry Crossing (the UK’s tallest bridge) on Rosyth’s waterfront. Aquarius Court, at 17,216 sq.ft, is

built over two open plan floor plates and is currently occupied by QinetiQ, Parsons Peebles Group, Epoint Embedded Computing and Core Assets Scotland. William McAlister of Scarborough

Muir, said: “The sale of Aquarius Court is indicative of the attractive location, now further improved by the increased connectivity of the Queensferry Crossing, quality tenant mix and excellent prospects for rental growth. The investment was seriously considered by four investors which reflects the increasing confidence the market has in Rosyth Waterfront as a commercial hub in Fife and that aligned with the scarcity of quality office stock are the driving forces behind investor demand.”

DM HALL APPOINTED

M Hall, one of Scotland’s largest firms of independent chartered surveyors, has been appointed, following the owner’s retirement, to sell a portfolio of three Aberdeenshire retail sites previously trading as Cruickshanks of Huntly, a long- established furniture retailer. The three sites, which are available both as a portfolio or as individual units, comprise an 8,061 sq.ft site at 32 High Street, Banff, for which the quoting price is £125,000; a 6,230 sq.ft site at 23 Church Street, Buckie, at a quoting price of £200,000 or annual rental of £25,000 pa; and a prominent 13,328 sq.ft flagship retail unit at 30 The Square, Huntly, for which the quoting price is £275,000 and quoting rental is £40,000 pa.

Owner of the properties, Michael Brodie, said: “I have reached that stage in my career when I would like to take it easier and to benefit from all the hard work that is gone into building the Cruickshanks of Huntly business over the years. “The furniture market has changed significantly in recent times and I am hopeful that under new ownership or management the three premises in Buckie, Banff and Huntly, will continue to generate prosperity for future generations.”

eading property consultancy CBRE, acting jointly with Kenny Lyon Consulting, has secured three new tenants at Hareness

Trade Park in Altens.

The trio of lettings to Eurocell, Element Materials Technology and CityFibre is on the back of a £1.5m investment by the landlord to extensively refurbish the terraced industrial units. Iain Landsman, associate director at CBRE said, “The downturn in the Aberdeen property market has created an oversupply of vacant industrial units. Occupiers have a greater choice than ever and it’s important for landlords to invest in their properties in order for them to be in ‘ready to walk in’ condition.” “On the back of our advice the landlord has invested substantial sums of money to extensively refurbish the units at Hareness Trade Park and it’s great news that we can welcome Eurocell, Element and CityFibre to the estate.”
