TEESAMP ADVANCED MANUFACTURING PARK – A GROUNDBREAKING DEVELOPMENT


eesAMP advanced manufacturing park is a groundbreaking development that will attract high productivity, cutting edge manufacturing companies looking for a prime location in one of the UK’s key regeneration areas. Developers of TeesAMP are confident the 11 hectare site will attract forward- thinking businesses and up to 1,000 jobs to Tees Valley, and generate hundreds of millions of pounds of gross value added to the UK economy.

The first phase of development includes 180,000 sq.ft of high quality manufacturing with office space across 17 buildings. Agents for the scheme are Tees Valley- based Dodds Brown and Cushman & Wakefield.


Middlesbrough deputy mayor and


executive member for City Centre Strategy, councillor Charlie Rooney, said: “TeesAMP is an exciting location of national and international significance that offers a prime location for advanced manufacturers, in the heart of Tees Valley. “Our area offers fantastic transport links, superb housing and a well-established supply chain. “TeesAMP will provide a 21st century environment designed to encourage the clustering of like-minded businesses from a variety of industrial sectors. “With unrivalled access to skills on the doorstep, through partnerships with further and higher education institutions such as Middlesbrough College, companies locating here will benefit from training and apprenticeship opportunities to support their growth.”


Phase one of the project – due to be completed in Spring 2019 – will include flexible, high specification buildings in a quality landscaped environment with extensive open spaces.


Units will include substantial power provision, spacious yards with HGV turning circles, high speed broadband, floor loadings between 25KN/m2 – 50KN/m2 and ample car parking provision.


Phase two of the development will include bespoke buildings and processes extending up to another 100,000 sq.ft. TeesAMP is the result of a partnership between Middlesbrough Council, Tees Valley Combined Authority and Cleveland Property Developments, with funding from the SSI Taskforce.


Middlesbrough Council has provided £12.5m investment for the project while Tees Valley Combined Authority has provided £7.6m.


Tees Valley Business Support Scheme is targeted at manufacturing and service sector businesses and provides grant support for those companies creating new, sustainable jobs in the Tees Valley.” The site is already home to TWI’s £10.8 million base, now the UK’s first Offshore Wind Validation Centre delivering research and validation services for offshore wind tower manufacturers, as well as for the oil and gas, subsea and other industrial sectors.


Charlie added: “We are already in discussion with a number of companies about accommodation – and there will be several exciting announcements to come in the following months.
