THE NORTH EAST BIC – THE PERFECT LOCATION TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS

River View. I

t is the combination of flexible accommodation and support for businesses at every stage of their evolution that makes the BIC more than just affordable space.

With a mission to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship, today the North East BIC manages three business centre locations: a 14 acre site in Sunderland, The Hub in Washington and Business Central in Darlington and is home to 235 companies ranging from start-ups to established businesses. These span an array of industries from scientific, marketing and design, software and high tech clusters to finance and logistics.

It is the mix of affordable, flexible, high spec commercial property alongside

relevant business support programmes which attracts such a diverse range of firms.

Innovative Workspace

Having helped to create over 7,000 jobs across the region since inception in 1994, the BIC has developed a unique range of tailor made services and facilities to meet the needs of new and thriving businesses. Access to fully managed services, leading edge IT infrastructure, meeting and conference facilities and onsite business advice, means that business owners can concentrate on running their business. Support is also on offer from the start- up team who have helped over 4,000 individuals set up in business; the SME Innovation Programme is funding established businesses to develop new products and the extensive events programme provides ample opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn new skills and get advice, from how to avoid cybercrime, master social media and deliver first class customer service. Numerous networking events at all our centres can inspire, inform and help entrepreneurs to make new connections.
