The Blade Artist - Buccaneer Media Buccaneer Media is in development to produce a TV adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s The Blade Artist. The Blade Artist will see Robert Carlyle reprise his role as the ultra-violent Francis Begbie. Irvine Welsh, Robert Carlyle and Buccaneer’s Tony Wood and Richard Tulk-Hart will serve as Executive Producers.


For Whom The Bell Tolls - Fulwell 73 David Harewood is set to direct his first feature film, For Whom The Bell Tolls, produced by Fulwell 73. Fulwell 73’s Leo Pearlman and Heather Greenwood are producers on the project, which is set to start filming in 2022.


Lovers and Gamblers - FederationUK Newly-formed indie FederationUK and writer Sarah Phelps are to adapt Jackie Collins’ best-seller Lovers & Gamblers as a major new television series. Phelps will executive produce alongside FederationUK’s Polly Williams and Arielle Gottlieb. The show will be co-produced with eOne.


Litvinenko - ITV ITV and NENT Group have commissioned a four part drama, Litvinenko, with David Tennant as Alexander Litvinenko. Written by screenwriter, George Kay and directed by Jim Field Smith, the drama will be executive produced by Patrick Spence for ITV Studios, Josephine Zapata Genetay for NENT Group, Lucy Bedford for Tiger Aspect Productions, George Kay, Jim Field Smith and David Tennant. The co-producer is Richard Kerbaj for Livedrop Media and the drama will be produced by Chris May.

The Defenders – Channel 4 Channel 4 has commissioned Spring Films for four-part documentary series The Defenders. Richard Melman is executive producer for Spring Films.


Johnny vs Amber - discovery+ Discovery has commissioned Johnny vs Amber, a two-episode documentary that tells the story of the breakdown of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s relationship The double bill is produced by Optomen. The series was ordered for discovery+ by Clare Laycock, commissioned by Charlotte Reid and


executive produced by Matt Reid for Discovery. It is executive produced by Nick Hornby and Fran Baker for Optomen.


David Dimbleby’s BBC: A Very British History - BBC2 As the BBC celebrates its centenary, David Dimbleby will trace the impact of the BBC on British life across recent decades. David Dimbleby’s BBC: A Very British History was commissioned by Patrick Holland and Clare Sillery. It is being made by BBC Studios. The Executive Producer is Denys Blakeway. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Hamish Fergusson.


The BBC’s First 50 Years - BBC2 In two feature-length documentaries, The BBC’s First 50 Years will explore how the challenges and triumphs of today’s BBC have their roots in the corporation’s first half century. Made by Crux Productions and The Garden Productions. The Series Producer is John Bridcut and the Executive Producer is Magnus Temple. The Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Mark Bell.


Thatcher And Reagan – The Special Relationship - BBC2 Charles Moore is to present a new two part BBC2 doc on the relationship between UK PM Margaret Thatcher and US President Ronald Reagan. It is produced by Plimsoll Productions and was commissioned by Patrick Holland and Clare Sillery. Series Producer is Chris Durlacher and the Executive Producers are Richard Klein and Denys Blakeway. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Simon Young


Billionaires’ Paradise: Inside the Caribbean - Channel 4 Billionaires’ Paradise: Inside the Caribbean (w/t) is a Spun Gold TV production for Channel 4. The Series Producer is Zuelika Brown and the Executive Producers are Anna Edwinson and Daniela Neumann for Spun Gold. It was commissioned for Channel 4 by Becky Cadman.


Ghislaine - ITV ITV has commissioned Fremantle UK to produce a new documentary film on Ghislaine Maxwell. It was commissioned by ITV’s Head of Factual Entertainment Sue Murphy and Commissioning Editor, Factual Entertainment, Nicola Lloyd. The Executive Producers are Yvonne Alexander and Fatima Salaria for Fremantle UK.
