Business News Recruiter among best places to work

Birmingham-based SF Recruitment has been named among the top five companies to work for in the Midlands, by a respected poll. The business was the only

recruitment firm of the five in the poll, which is run by the ‘Sunday Times’. Unlike the poll’s national

rankings – where SF was named as one of the best small companies to work for – the Midlands list was not broken down into categories based on the size of the organisation. SF Recruitment says it has made

a ‘significant investment’ in its employee engagement programme during the last two years. In addition to flexible working

options, the company offers a range of benefits and incentives which allow employees to reduce their hours and enjoy an early finish on a Friday. SF chief executive Saira Demmer

said: “We have developed a number of fantastic learning and development programmes over the last few years and we are thrilled to have been recognised as the fifth best company to work for in the Midlands. “In our day jobs, we are

people with their ideal roles, and for us to achieve this, we knew we had to make sure that all of our people were coming to work every day excited to be in their own ideal roles. Being part of a team of engaged, successful people is what we believe makes a business an employer of choice” Earlier this year, SF earned three-

star accreditation by Best Companies, which is recognised as the UK standard in workplace development. Among the recent changes to

the workplace, the company introduced enhanced maternity pay, length of service rewards and clear career development pathways.

Improving wellbeing has also

been a key driver for the business, and Ms Demmer said: “We have provided options for our people to focus on their physical, mental and financial wellbeing, at a time and in a way that suits them and their individual circumstances. “In addition to healthcare plans

and gym memberships, we have regular visits from a mindfulness consultant and an anonymous counsellor is also available to employees who would like to discuss personal matters in a safe environment.” Chamber chief executive Paul

Faulkner said: “It is fantastic to see SF Recruitment leading the way in employee engagement and its position as a best company to work for. “The business has set a really

positive example for other businesses in the Midlands, and the initiatives it has introduced over recent years has shown why it is such a forward-thinking company.” SF offices in Nottingham, Birmingham and Leicester. Its specialist expertise stretches a number of areas, including executive, finance and accountancy and technology.
