MARKET REPORT CONCRETE LAYING, CUTTING & FINISHING
Latest products Husqvarna concrete operation grows
Henric Andersson, President of Husqvarna Construction Products, reports that the Division’s Concrete Surface & Floors operation has grown considerably during the past two years. This follows the acquisition of companies such as resin bond polishing equipment manufacturer Diamond Tools Supply (DTS), Pullman Ermator which makes dust and slurry management systems, and HTC which offers solutions for grinding and polishing concrete floors. Husqvarna also acquired Atlas Copco’s business in light compaction
and concrete placement equipment and the aim is to offer a comprehensive range for the entire process, from soil compaction to a finished concrete floor. One of the most recent developments is the incorporation of the former Atlas Copco line-up into the range, sporting Husqvarna’s orange livery, including tamping rammers, soil and asphalt plate compactors, reversible plates, duplex rollers, concrete vibrators, screeds and trowels.

For breaking hardened concrete, Hilti’s TE 2000-AVR demolition hammer weighs 14.5kg and delivers 35 joules of impact energy with 1,800 impacts per minute, leading to a quoted removal rate of up to three tonnes per hour. The manufacturer says the tool is an effective alternative to traditional electric 30kg demolition hammers and it has an HAV rating of 4.8m/s². When used with the TE DRS-B dust removal system and a Hilti
M-class vacuum, the system removes up to 95% of hazardous fine dust from the point of impact. It has been designed for the demolition of concrete floors that are less than 20cm in depth, as well as thin slab and screed demolition and exposing rebar.
