Dominating lighting tower hirer, Illumin8’s stand were some of the Trime X-Battery machines it has in its fleet, which give up to 72 hours’ operation on a full charge and can be recharged in eight hours. As well as its HiLight B5+ lighting tower, Atlas Copco Power Technique showed the Cobra PROi breaker which the company says is also proving popular for driving marquee and tent pegs into the ground. Also on display was a 100kVA model from the new compact QAS5 generator line-up, designed to give quieter operation, reduced engine emissions and enhanced fuel economy.

GAP promoted equipment and services from a number of its divisions, including Welfare, Events, Survey, Lifting and Non-Mechanical products.
In a novel promotional initiative, visitors were invited to guess the number of fence couplings displayed in a cage on the stand, with the entrant having the nearest estimate winning £200 in gift vouchers.
Another hirer, MJC Forkrent of Wantage, promoted some of the fork lifts and telescopic handlers that it supplies on a national basis to event management companies, factories, construction sites and other customers. The 300-strong fleet includes models from manufacturers such as Manitou, JCB and Wacker Neuson. The company’s Mark Crossley told EHN that machines are offered on short and long-term hire.
Living up to its reputation for ongoing innovation, AJC Trailers showed another addition to its EasyCabin welfare range, namely the Solar Toilet Pod. This harnesses the sun’s energy to power the hot water supply and lighting in the unit, and a wind turbine can also be fitted. Designed for environmentally-conscious customers, it exemplifies the company’s eco-friendly outlook that resulted in it recently winning a Silver trophy in the prestigious Green World Awards, the top tier of the Green Apple Awards which promote environmental best practice in the private and public sectors across the globe.
