Takeuchi’s TB225 mini excavator has been designed to meet growing demand from hire companies wanting a heavier model that was
still within trailer towing limits. It weighs in at just under 2,400kg with a cab, or 2,265kg with a canopy, leaving capacity for carrying extra items like buckets in the trailer. Integrated tie-down points are incorporated. The machine delivers 16.5kW of power, 19.3kN of digging force and a breakout
capacity of 12.8kN. Expanding tracks adjust the width from 1,100mm up to 1,500mm for access in narrow areas and increased stability when digging deep. The TB225 has proportional control. A thumb-operated slider is fitted on the

To meet customer demand, Digbits is expanding its range of hydraulic rotating selector grabs for compact plant. Alongside its British-manufactured range of RG Series units, the company will now stock the premium line-up of Kinshofer HPX, ram-less grabs. The high-performance HPX range is said to offer several benefits, including
actuation by helical motors, rather than rams, for compact size. Digbits says this is important on smaller machines with restricted load-over height, and that is also reduces potential for accidental damage. They also enable the operator to switch the type of shells used, from, for example, general purpose perforated sorting shells to clamshell or timber grapple types, using a simple bolt-on process.

Go greener with Tufftruk
Tufftruk UK reports that hirers are responding to growing demand for greener construction equipment to enable contractors to work inside buildings and in emission-sensitive environments. The company’s Truxta EV mini dumper is a battery
powered unit with an 8-hour duty cycle, offering fume- and noise-free operation. It electric motor is powered by a 24V system and the machine has an integral charger which plugs into 230V and 110V supplies. The Truxta is available in versions with skip capacities
of 300kg or 450kg. A patented steering pivot drive system is designed to give enhanced manoeuvrability and the ability to fit through doorways. A failsafe dead-man brake system is incorporated along with 4x4 transmission.
