EXECUTIVE REPORT
Stuart Power’s fleet includes Pramac-Generac V20 Tower Lights.
Seen at Showman’s
EHN reports on some of the equipment with hire fleet potential that was displayed at the popular Showman’s Show for the events market.
Not surprisingly, given that temporary power is required for so many elements of staging an event and the related site management, that generators and associated equipment were prominent at the Showman’s Show held in October at Newbury Showground.
AEM’s Jesús Martínes demonstrated the sound-proofing fitted to the company’s Rental range of generators.
Spanish manufacturer, AEM, showed the impressively designated RKW40SPLF/3A generator, a model from its Rental range. Commercial
Manager Jesús Martínes explained that the serial number stands for a rental specification products with a Kohler water-cooled engine in a sound-proofed canopy with a low-level trailer option, and providing 40kVA while meeting Stage IIIA emission regulations. He also demonstrated the 80mm-thick insulation that suppresses the engine noise very effectively. New Stage V models will enter production shortly.
Morris is the UK distributor of Tangent hybrid battery packs.
Morris Site Machinery demonstrated hybrid battery packs from Tangent Energy for which it has been appointed
as UK distributor. These can be fitted to any generator with an auto- start facility and are available in 30, 45, 60 and 90kVA capacities. Sales Director Richard Denholm explained that the units can effectively create a local grid feeding power to the various services items on a site as required from their storage batteries. The generator fires up automatically as necessary, minimising emissions and fuel consumption, and reducing wear and tear on the machine.

Specialist hirer, Stuart Power, which has depots in Shropham (Norfolk), Immingham and Inkberrow, reported strong demand for the generators in its fleet, which chiefly comprise FG Wilson models. The company also has approximately 100 lighting towers available, including Pramac-Generac machines such as the V20 Tower Light units that were prominently displayed. The machine’s gull-winged doors give easy access to the engine for maintenance, whilst the back door provides access to the control panel. Compact dimensions enable 14 units to be transported on a flatbed lorry.
Titan Power promoted a range of electrical site distribution boxes available from 16A to 400A and targeted at events and construction applications. The company can make customised solutions incorporating customer logos if required and all components are recessed for protection. The stackable boxes are made from heavy-duty polyurethane and are IP67-rated for water protection.
Titan Power offers a variety of electrical site distribution boxes.
One of the products on the EP Barrus stand was the Loncin LC50ZB23-31Q chemical pump, a 2in-diameter machine designed to handle fuels and other similar fluids. It has a plastic impeller with EPDM seals, a capacity of 35,000 litres per hour and gives a 23m head height.
This Loncin chemical pump from EP Barrus is designed for handling fuels and similar fluids.
