Tilt-rotator manufacturer, Engcon, has developed a new sorting grab for mini excavators. The SK02 weighs just over 100kg, making it suitable for small machines in the 1.5-tonne to 3-tonne class. The manufacturer says that the new attachment has been introduced to meet demand from customers who find the larger SK05 model too big for their minis. It weighs 109 kg, is 400mm wide and offers
a maximum grab strength of 5.7kN. It also has bolt-on cutting blades, prepared for digging teeth, and can
be delivered with side cheeks so it can be used as a clamshell bucket. 01684 297168

Boss Plant succeeds with Ausa
Boss Plant Sales was appointed as an Ausa dealer earlier this year. Spadeoak Construction, an asphalt surfacing specialist, recently took delivery of three D450 AHG models with rotary skips and which have a 4,500kg payload capacity. The machines were put straight to work handling asphalt loaded
by a Kubota KX121-3 mini excavator, also supplied by Boss Plant, for surfacing work for a hospital car park in Enfield. Due to restricted access, the asphalt was tipped from delivery vehicles onto the surface of the entrance road and the mini excavator loaded it into the dumper skip, which then transferred it to a wheeled paver. Spadeoak also used two Bomag tandem rollers on the job, a BW120AD and a BW80AD.
