TIMBERPAK is delighted to announce it is partnering Newcastle Wood Recycling and Leeds Wood Recycling. These not-for-profi t enterprises operate in Timberpak’s heartland and share the philosophy that ‘waste wood is a resource’. In addition, they help marginalised members of the community who have been turned away from jobs due to prejudice or personal history by off ering work experience, volunteering and training opportunities, potentially leading to full-time employment. Timberpak Customer Relationship Manager, Gavin Ball said: “Timberpak is extremely pleased to be supporting both social enterprises which share a common belief in adhering to the waste hierarchy and at the same time are helping the local

community. We see this partnership as a perfect fi t for all three companies.” Both recycling enterprises breathe life into the waste wood they collect and give it another lifespan by using it to produce and sell a range of both wood products and furniture. Timberpak is also providing both enterprises with free wood processing at its Washington and Leeds facilities as a way of disposing of wood they simply cannot use. This equates to a signifi cant saving for both enterprises each year. With Timberpak being part of EGGER (UK) Limited, the wood items both enterprises produce are being promoted to hundreds of its employees – perfect timing for Christmas gifts. Newcastle Wood Recycling has been

operating for some time and Leeds Wood Recycling has just begun operating. The latter held its offi cial launch in October. Charlotte Stanley, business owner of Leeds Wood Recycling, said: “Leeds Wood Recycling are proud to be working in partnership with Timberpak; diverting wood waste from landfill and saving resources, while supporting and empowering people in Leeds by creating jobs, and creating training and volunteering opportunities for the local community. Beth McDonough, business owner of Newcastle Wood Recycling concluded: “We are over the moon to be working in partnership with Timberpak and are very grateful for its support. We will be shouting about this on our social media!”
