WASTE RECYCLING

Nevis Resources Ltd help raise charity funds with zombie run

MEMBERS of staff from Durham-based Nevis Resources Limited recently got their spook on and took part in a local 5km Zombie Run during late October, in aid of charity.

The event, which was held in Hamsterley Forest, was in aid of the local Butterwick Hospice with all entry money going to the charity.

The members of staff (pictured) spent

the day dodging past zombies who were tasked with retrieving the three tags carried by each runner, and it was reported all Nevis staff had a “Fang Plastic” day.

Leading into the New Year, Nevis Resources, which specialises in the purchase and sale of recyclable plastics, will be putting a lot of resource into the expansion of its plastic trading activity.

Timberpak Scotland: new yard expansion is now complete after major investment

THE recent extension of Timberpak Scotland’s yard has seen a range of additional benefi ts for its increasing customer base. With the ongoing success of its business there was an increasing requirement for more space, which led to the need to expand the yard. After planning was gained, construction began earlier in the year.

Gordon Argo, Operations Manager for Timberpak Scotland said: “The new area provides us with much-needed additional space to allow for the tipping of more wagons. “This will help with customer-turnaround times and provide us with the capability for increased volumes on site. “The 1,900 m2

yard extension has been completed for a number of months now

and also features a new picking station which enables us to pick more material. This ensures we can meet the high quality standards required for the recycled wood we provide our parent company EGGER with, which is a key component in its chipboard production.” With the new extension Timberpak Scotland also has a dedicated area to process civic amenity material.
