Sheffi eld waste fi rm snapped up after winding up petition
THE assets of South Yorkshire Company, Airload Environmental Limited, a hazardous waste and dangerous goods removal company, have been sold to Enviroload Waste Services. The Sheffi eld waste management fi rm was sold to Enviroload as a result of a winding up petition due to debts and cash fl ow issues. Sheffi eld-headquartered Wilson Field Group was called in to advise Airload Environmental after the HMRC issued the winding up petition.
Kelly Burton, director and licenced insolvency practitioner at Wilson Field, said: “The business had been heavily reliant on one customer in previous years, UK Coal, which ceased trading in December 2015.
“Despite replacing some of the lost turnover, it was insuffi cient to meet current operational costs as well as meeting historical debts, and cash fl ow diffi culties then resulted. “We are pleased to announce that the assets and business were sold to Enviroload Waste Services Ltd with seven employees being transferred to the new company via TUPE.” Since its establishment in the 1980s, Airload Industrial Services supplied pneumatic pumps to the UK’s mining industry. The company changed its name to Airload Environmental in 2009 and offered a nationwide collection service for domestic and the industry market regarding hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Airload’s seven employees have been transferred under TUPE after the company’s purchase for an undisclosed fee.
