Drying of substrates is not new. Grain, concrete, wood kilns, clothes and even seaweed has been dried using warm air.

Traditionally the energy source has been from gas, oil fired burners or electricity. The Government wants to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, hence the introduction of the RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) back in November 2011.
Drying is currently an eligible use - though maybe not for long - sometime in March 2018 to be precise.
If you are a waste company, and are considering installing a waste wood boiler and the RHI payments are fundamental to
your fi nancial business model, you need to act fast.
There is another reason to act fast. The industry has seen a recent increase in RDF gate fees, which has largely been caused by the following factors:
An increase in RDF production in the UK.
Seasonal variation reducing the demand for RDF-generated power in the summer months (due to wind turbines and solar panels).
