n GRANTHAM-based Mid UK Recycling have supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wrapping bales of SRF in pink bale wrap instead of the usual black and

green. The company was taking part in the annual campaign involving thousands of organisations, to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness, education and research.

The campaign sees a donation from wrap manufacturers Trioplast to the charity Breast Cancer Now, for every roll of pink bale wrap bought by Mid UK Recycling and other businesses taking part.

Ruth Cullen from Mid UK Recycling said: “The great thing about pink is that it’s so eye-catching in the yard, and when it is transported on the roads, it helps to raise awareness of this fantastic cause. The bales attract a lot of interest from the public. Pictures of pink bales have been all over social media.”

Mid UK Recycling staff also participated in the “Wear it Pink” day. Staff across all their sites wore pink, and then made a donation to the campaign.

WASTE'18 ANNOUNCED

THIS month, I'm using my column to announce something which we all think is a pretty special event for your all-time favourite magazine.

We've spent months working on our WASTE'18 exhibition, and I'm delighted to say we're returning bigger and better than ever before in July, 2018.

After five years, we've taken the plunge and are moving the one-day event to a custom built exhibition space south of Birmingham.

We're moving to the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre beside Leamington Spa and the date of the exhibition is Thursday, July 5, 2018.

It's a huge step for us, and we've made the decision after lengthy consultations with our customers and friends in the industry. In short, we're moving much
