S&S plans seven ride openings in 2021

020 was a challenging year for the industry, but S&S – Sansei Technologies has announced that it is scheduled to open seven new ride projects in 2021. The new projects include a 4D Free Spin coaster at Ocean Flower Island in Danzhou, China. the first 4D Free Spin coaster in all of China. There will also be a 4D Free Spin coaster at Motiongate in Dubai, UAE, the first ride of its kind in the UAE and themed to the epic action series, John Wick. Adventureland Park in Altoona, Iowa, will also introduce a 4D Free Spin coaster.


An Air Launch coaster is being completed at Changsha Window of the World, located in Changsha, Hunan, China. This proprietary air launch system has a maximum height of 40 meters (131 feet) and a track length measuring 830 meters (2,723 feet) long. It will contain over 10 exciting elements with multiple inversions launching at a max speed of 100 kph (62 mph). It will be the first air launch coaster in China by S&S to have inversions. A Combo Tower will rise at Ocean Flower Island in Danzhou, China. Another Combo Tower is set for Hainan Ocean Paradise in Lingshui, China. A Space Shot Tower is destined for Chongqing Sunac Land in Chongqing, China.


EPCOT Transformation continues


A reimagined fountain at the main entrance of EPCOT shines in front of Spaceship Earth at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The fountain hearkens back to


the origins of EPCOT and is the next milestone in the park’s ongoing historic transformation.


“Festival of the Lion King” returns at Disney’s Animal Kingdom


Expected this summer, the Harambe Theatre at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will host that fan-favorite troupe of musical storytellers, along with Simba and his friends, in a celebration of the incomparable “Festival of the Lion King.” When it returns, “Festival of the Lion King” will be presented in a modified format to be mindful of the current environment. There will be adjustments to the show on stage and backstage, including updates to choreography to allow for appropriate physical distancing. There will also be adjustments to how the audience is seated, in line with other theater-based experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests will soon be able to clap along with “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” thrill to the fire knife performance during “Be Prepared,” swoon over “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” and take in the joyous “Circle of Life.”
