robotics, animation and motion control, and simulators. The technical staff, which include system designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, software programmers, project managers, fi eld installers, and customer service, are unique in that they are cross-disciplined and can assist with many different aspects of the company’s projects. The variety of special effects that can be provided is mind boggling: from seat transducers, front air and water blasts, and leg and neck ticklers to seat poppers, wind, rain, snow, bubbles, fog, scent, and lighting strobes, to say nothing of the 5.1 surround sound. As the company was literally started in a garage, every

project has always been a personal refl ection of the company, Dan maintains. MediaMation therefore utilises a “customer fi rst” and “get it done” approach to make sure that projects are open on time and remain in operation for years to come. Alison Jamele commented on MediaMation’s company philosophy: “When Dan and I started the company together, we wanted to make sure that what we believed in our private lives would carry into our business life. Living what we believe in all phases of our lives is very important to our well-being; hence our philosophy, God fi rst, family second, and career third, thus treating others as one would want to be treated.”

Coming home to Hollywood success MediaMation’s ‘motion EFX’ seat manufacturing has launched the company into leadership in the amusement industry and beyond into cinema, where they have provided systems in

more than 250 theaters around the world. Finally, after more than three decades, Dan Jamele has found his piece of stardom in the Los Angeles entertainment business, with the November 2017 opening of MediaMation’s MX4D EFX theater at the TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood. With new ventures into

ESports, virtual reality, and other expansion of their products and services, MediaMation has created a worldwide footprint that is much wider and deeper than could ever have been imagined when they went to that IAAPA Expo in Dallas. Dan has nothing but enthusiasm for the challenges and

rewards of working in the amusement industry: “The joy and passion of the amusement industry is that every project is a different and unique challenge. I tell my people that they will never be bored, but they will work harder than in most any other industry. But in the end, seeing that show, attraction, museum, fountain, or theater on opening day, fi lled with people that enjoy, laugh, and celebrate the work we all created, is the reward and reason we all work in the industry.”
