Big Apple coaster adds VR

A

white-knuckle ride high above the Vegas strip, the Big Apple Virtual Reality Experience now combines a need for

speed with advanced, immersive graphics. Designed by VR Coaster, the adventure begins as

riders are equipped with virtual reality headsets, and they take on the role of a scientist in hot pursuit of an alien that escaped their research facility. The visuals take riders high above the Nevada desert and up the Las Vegas Strip. The coaster’s passenger trains are equipped with

sensors that use wireless connectivity to precisely synchronize the virtual reality creative visuals with the real ride. This advanced, lightweight technology was developed to withstand the ups, downs, dives and loops of a roller coaster without losing connection to the virtual reality headsets. The experience utilizes VR Coaster’s graphic system, Hybrid VR, to deliver 3D footage in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second for high-quality visuals and a more immersive ride.

Bellewaerde invests 17m in indoor water park

Parent company Compagnie des Alpes has green-lighted construction of a brand new indoor water park in Bellewaerde, Belgium. With an investment portfolio of 17 million euros, the opening is planned for the spring of 2019.

Designed to cater to the entire family, the site will be about 3000 m² and aims to give visitors an “authentic and unforgettable” experience. Water slides and water features will be placed in an oasis of green, and a play zone and a toddler’s pool will entertain little ones. The arrival of the Aquapark means the largest

investment ever for Bellewaerde. “Several market studies showed the potential of Bellewaerde’s combination with an indoor water park, so the entire Bellewaerdeteam is proud that we can realize this important project,” said Stefaan Lemey, general manager of Bellewaerde

DeepFrame Realfiction Holding launched DeepFrame One, which the company claims is the world’s largest mixed reality display, during CES 2018 in front of an audience of journalists and media. “For many years our clients have requested large scale, glasses-free magical experiences. This is why I am particularly proud and excited about launching DeepFrame One, and our first use-cases that creates magical, larger- than-life experiences, aimed at global brands and the experience industry,” said Realfiction’s CEO Clas Dyrholm. DeepFrame One is designed by Danish designer
