ACQUISITION ALERT

Acquisition Alert

Tanya Axisa, head of account management at Swintt, talks to GIO about the diversification of its content following the company’s recent acquisition of Elysium Studios.

Tell us about Swintt’s background. Swintt first made its debut within the international gaming market in 2019, although our story first began in Malta. We have made it our mission to deliver a range of innovative and disruptive slots and live dealer titles that keep both operators and players engaged. We are proud to say that over these past five years, we have continued to do just that.

Now, in 2024, we are regulated in 10 different markets, and boast a team of more than 70+ people. Our portfolio of products has also gone from strength to strength. We have produced more than 140 online slot games for players, made possible via our SwinttSelect and SwinttPremium verticals, covering a range of different themes. We have also added live dealer casino products to our offering via our SwinttLive product, bringing the excitement of Las Vegas casinos to our players around the world. Through SwinttStudios, we are also supporting boutique, third-party studios to expand their brand reach by launching their games on the Swintt platform.

Most recently, we also acquired Elysium Studios, an innovative casino software developer that was founded in Bulgaria. This acquisition, we believe, will give us the opportunity to deliver even more high- quality titles that lean heavily into the latest social, video and casino gaming trends.

At the beginning of the year, Swintt announced the acquisition of Elysium Studios. How did this start?

We were actually looking for new opportunities to continue our growth into 2024, and something that became apparent was that we should consider bringing new studios on board – ultimately, this would enable Swintt to diversify our content even further and continue to deliver a stellar experience for our players.

We wanted to expand our portfolio with unique games that combine top-notch graphics, animation and sounds with features and mechanics that are inspired by the latest social, video and casino gaming trends and Elysium Studios did just that.

What was the reason for the acquisition? What are the synergies with Elysium Studios? One of the major driving forces behind this acquisition was the breadth of Elysium Studios’ portfolio. They boast a roster of fantastically unique games that combine amazing graphics, animations and sounds with a range of innovative features – this is something we thought would resonate with Swintt’s global audience.

Many of our players may also be familiar with the Elysium Studios brand as some of their team were behind the design of some Red Tiger flagship titles. This expertise will only help take Swintt from strength to strength.

How will the acquisition bolster your offering? When discussing the possibility of the acquisition,

we firstly needed to identify any potential gaps in our portfolio so that we could continue to provide top-tier content to as broad an audience as possible. At Swintt, we do already boast a broad portfolio of games via our SwinttPremium vertical that largely caters to the more traditional casino and slot player and SwinttSelect portfolio of stunning graphics combined with innovative features. Adding to this, now Elysium Studios will allow us to deliver new and engaging experiences for players who may show a penchant for advanced bonus features and unique game designs.

Elysium Studios has extensive experience in delivering stand-out game designs and features that keep players on their toes; we think their games will be particularly popular with the younger generation in Nordic countries like Sweden.

Moving forward, what are your plans for 2024? In one word, growth! Throughout the course of this year, we have big plans to launch into a number of new markets, including Greece, Ontario, Romania and the UK. We will also continue our collaboration with Vinnie Jones as we ready ourselves for the launch of The Crown Reloaded, which has been developed specifically for the UK market. Vinnie Jones is a big star in the UK, so having his endorsement will help take this title to new heights. Speaking of new content, we will also continue to diversify our portfolio by working with more boutique studios via our SwinttStudios vertical. Having Elysium Studios join the Swintt family will only help further that range of content.
