Apollo Funds complete acquisitions of IGT’s Gaming Business and Everi


Apollo has completed the previously announced acquisitions of International Game Technology PLC’s (doing business as ‘Brightstar Lottery’) Gaming & Digital Business and Everi Holdings Inc (“Everi”) by a holding company owned by funds managed by Apollo affiliates (the “Apollo Funds”). The all-cash transaction, valued at approximately $6.3 billion, brings together complementary businesses to form a privately held global leader in gaming, digital and financial technology solutions.


The two companies will be integrated into a combined enterprise in the coming months. Headquartered in Las Vegas, the combined enterprise will operate under the IGT name,


while retaining the Everi brand in select markets and product lines. IGT will be organized into three business units: Gaming, Digital and   talent, collaboration and innovation. “This is a defining moment for our industry,” said Nick Khin, Interim CEO of IGT. “By uniting two leading organisations, we are building an enterprise with the scale, talent and technology to lead the future of gaming. With Apollo’s support, we are very well- positioned to deliver exceptional content across land-based and digital experiences, along with integrated financial solutions and casino management.”


Abbiati Casino Equipment and Hawkins Holdings form strategic alliance


Abbiati Casino Equipment, a global leader in premium casino equipment and technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with Hawkins Holdings to strengthen its presence across North and South America. As part of this initiative, seasoned gaming executive Roger Hawkins has been appointed brand ambassador and strategic consultant for the Americas.

V.I.P. X Galaxy Novoline machines shine at Coral Island Blackpool


Coral Island Blackpool, one of the UK’s most prestigious AGC locations, has recently boosted its gaming offering with the installation of three V.I.P. X Galaxy Novoline cabinets, as well as two End of Bank signs. These new additions are already making a


 engagement and overall performance. Sean Morris, Coral Island’s senior operations manager, expressed his satisfaction: “The aesthetics of the V.I.P.X Galaxy machines are outstanding, and the income uplift they’ve delivered has been a real boost to our gaming area, player interest has been massive.”

Merkur Group data protection coordinators meet


Data protection coordinators from the Merkur Group recently came together for an international workshop at Benkhausen Castle. The aim was to keep up to date with current developments in the  positions. “The exchange with colleagues is an important building block for responsible data protection,” explained Ludwig Beckmann, chief  The workshop focused primarily on the topic of AI. However, the group also discussed the areas of cybercrime and the Cyber Security Act. The workshop offered participants a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and further developing data protection topics. It once again highlighted the importance of data protection, both within the digital world and the Merkur Group with its customers and gaming guests.
