CEO INTERVIEW – MARCO HERRERA


From software, to systems, to strategy


Casino International’s Matt Broughton caught up with Marco Herrera, CEO of DR Gaming Technology™ (DRGT™), to talk about his journey through the gaming industry, the Company’s big moves in 2025, and how owning casinos gives them a major edge in testing new tech.


Matt: Let’s start with a bit of background; how did you come to be CEO at DRGT? Marco: I’ve been in the gaming industry for a bit  job was as a Nintendo game developer; I then moved into a tech role at a privately owned chain   leadership positions at Bally Technologies, then  Most of that time I’ve focused on systems — it’s really my thing — and I’ve been lucky enough to do that across North America, Europe, Africa, Asia… you name it.


 founder, about 15 years ago when DRGT became Bally’s distributor in Belgium. We hit it off and kept in touch ever since. Fast forward to 2024, the  operations — opening new properties under the   opened the CEO spot, and the timing just felt right for both of us.


 chair as of September 2024 — and it’s been a fast start!


Matt: What does a week usually look like in your role? Marco: Honestly, no two weeks are the same — and I like it that way. I split my time between  Vegas, where I live, and Oostende, where our  deep in meetings with the product management  on a call with a customer discussing a new property rollout.


I also, obviously, spend a fair bit of time  connecting with our customers and teams across   still a great hub for this industry, but I’m rarely in one place for long.
