JULY GAMING REVENUE JUMPS 19 PCT, HITS NEW POST- PANDEMIC HIGH


Post-Covid momentum continues to surge in the gaming sector, with Macau casinos generating gross gaming revenue (GGR) of MOP 22.13 billion (USD 2.73 billion) in July — a 19 per cent increase year-on-year.


According to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, the year-on-year growth rate is similar to that recorded in June, when GGR reached MOP 21.064 billion.  billion, up 6.5 per cent from the same period last year.  


 


GRANDVIEW SATELLITE CASINO CEASES OPERATIONS Casino Grandview ceased operations on 30 July, with all gaming tables to be  Located at Grandview Hotel, on Estrada Governador Albano de Oliveira in Taipa,  It is slated to close its doors by 31 December, following a June announcement  three-year grace period stipulated in the gaming law comes to an end. As for other local staff working at Casino Grandview who are not employed by SJM, the company said it would invite them to apply for relevant vacancies within the Group, “with priority in hiring under equal circumstances, and will be provided with the necessary support.”
