Brazil Central Bank has reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the country on sports betting and online gaming platforms – known locally as Bets – reached R$ 22 billion – about US$4 billion – per month which admitted to having allocated family resources to digital betting funds previously used for other leisure purposes during the weekends. According to the Central Bank, if such current betting pace is maintained, the annual amount allocated to Bets will reach approximately R$ 270 billion – about US$48.5 billion – in 2025, which is equivalent to 84% of the entire 2024 beef retail market registered in Brazil.
