ello readers! As the long summer days draw to a close and we enter into the cosy autumnal period, we are excited to bring you the September/ October issue of Sign Update! Before we get into all the exciting goings

on in this issue, we have some key dates you won’t want to miss putting into your calendar!

Starting off strong we have The Print Show, the UK’s largest annual event dedicated to the print industry, taking place from September 17 to 19 at the NEC in Birmingham. At the event, attendees can speak with experts from all corners of the print industry, learning about the latest technologies and how to expand in order to grow business. Following shortly after is the second annual WrapFest, taking place on October 3 and 4 at Silverstone racing circuit. In this issue of Sign Update, we hear from Duncan MacOwan of FESPA on why people should attend, especially given its unique status as the only dedicated event for vinyl installation and vehicle wrapping professionals in the UK. Finally, and most importantly, to round off this jam-packed calendar is Sign & Digital UK’s return to the NEC in Birmingham in February 2025 along with the co-located Printwear & Promotion LIVE! You can read more about what to expect, exciting additions, and confi rmed exhibitors on pages 36 and 37 in this issue.

The excitement doesn’t just stop there! In this issue, I speak with Harper Signs to learn more about the seven-decade long history of the family-run business, and Melanie chats with Innotech to fi nd out more behind the company’s mantra of ‘fast, friendly, fl exible’. You can read all about Harper Signs’ history on pages 56 and 57, and Melanie’s chat with Kieran from Innotech on pages 42 and 43.

In this issue, we also see the return of our regular monthly columns. In our Sign Maker Advice column, Paul Hughes of Sign Making Tools explains how to best use the squeegee, in our Marketing Advice column, Colin Sinclair McDermott aka The Online Print Coach, talks how to best fi nancially manage your business, and in The BSGA Column, David Allen of The British Sign & Graphics Association explores attracting young talent and how to retain it.

As always, if you’d like to say hello, or inform us of some exciting company news please do send myself and Melanie an email. We can be reached on editor@signupdate.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you!

We hope you enjoy this month’s issue. Cameron SUBSCRIBE
