Astley Signs aids in rebranding Staycity and Wilde Aparthotels
A
stley Signs supported Staycity Group’s rebrand programme across the UK and Europe by providing signage expertise with a concept-to-completion solution. Following the redesign of both the Staycity Group brands – Staycity Aparthotels and Wilde Aparthotels – Astley was selected as the Group’s signage partner for its estate’s rollout programme. From the external signage to internals and wayfinding, the teams of Astley Signs surveyed, designed, manufactured and installed a variety of signage assets for sites across the Group’s estate.
The Astley Signs teams first visited Staycity and Wilde sites across the
UK and Europe to document information about current branded assets. The survey information was then shared with the company’s in-house design teams and technical teams who worked on designing and creating a set of proposed specifications for each asset type. Multiple variants were presented in a bespoke prototype installation at the company’s Gateshead facility. Following development and approval of these assets, the company’s design teams worked to create site-specific signage packs, using the overarching signage manual, to specify each asset for each location.
The Staycity and Wilde brands then entered the factory floor for manufacture before installation at their properties.

Dragonfly sees the benefits of Firstlite’s LED lighting D
ragonfly has utilised Firstlite’s LED lighting to completely fit out an optician’s shop in Hessle.
The project, on behalf of Eyesite Hessle, involved designing and constructing walls, shelving units, and display areas, to create a modern and upscale environment. The client required a clean and crisp lighting solution, a glowing effect in specific areas to enhance the overall ambience, and integration of LED lighting into the shelving units, VIP lounge, and main signage. For the project, Dragonfly used the
following Firstlite LED solutions to meet the
client’s needs: Halo LEDs around the ceiling and beneath the shelving units, LED Ribbon for in the shelving units and VIP lounge, and LED Modules for the main external signage. Mark Darnbrough, director at Dragonfly,
said: “We are in a visual industry, and effective use of lighting was an important element in the fit-out.” One challenge that Dragonfly faced was creating a consistent glow throughout the shop without overpowering the space. Mr Darnbrough noted: “We strategically placed the LEDs to provide the right balance of illumination and ambience. Firstlite’s LED products were essential in
achieving the desired look and feel.” Mr Darnbrough added that the client was
extremely satisfied with the final result and that the LED lighting adds that extra vibrancy to the shop.

Silverstone partners with Embrace to deliver grandstand wrap E
mbrace Building Wraps has partnered with Silverstone to create a printed grandstand wrap for Silverstone’s Official Sustainability Partner, Santander.
As part of a long-term partnership with Silverstone, Embrace has wrapped the new Luffield Corner Grandstand with Santander Edge current account messaging. The project features a 105x6m wrap along the rear of the stand. With it being too large to install as a single wrap, Embrace has created the illusion of a one-piece wrap by printing

a vertical velcro cover strip to hide the central ties and fixings.
MD, Greg Forster, said: “We are delighted to be invited back to Silverstone to deliver such a high-profile grandstand where the wrap will be seen for the first time at the Formula one British Grand Prix. The British Grand Prix is so much more than a race with lots of action on and off the track, so on-site branding is a dynamic way to connect with the fans.” Mr Forster added: “As one of
Silverstone’s key visual solutions partners, Embrace delivered the complete project
management service from running the engineers’ calculations for the wire frame system, print, install of the frames and wrap.”
The wrap remained in place for the rest of the season until September.
