MSM enhances production with second swissQprint machine
T
o respond to an increasing demand for promotional products, MSM Print & Promotions has added a swissQprint Impala 4 to complement its existing swissQprint Nyala 4 flatbed printer.
The acquisition of a swissQprint Nyala in 2022 replaced two older flatbed UV printers. This immediately boosted productivity with significant savings in running costs.
The Impala’s exceptional performance and quality make it an ideal addition, enabling MSM to expand its product range while maintaining robust workflow capacity for its core
promotional business.
Both the Nyala and the new Impala were commissioned with CMYK, white, and varnish, ensuring the high level of detail and quality MSM’s customers expect.
Tom Smyth, managing partner at MSM, said: “swissQprint’s efficiency is remarkable, and we’re delighted to have the new Impala operating next to our Nyala. The decision to purchase a second swissQprint was an easy one. Our transition to swissQprint has not only improved productivity and lead times, but also resulted in significant savings in ink and energy costs.”
Ian Maxfield, regional sales manager at swissQprint UK, added: “We are
delighted to support MSM’s continued growth with a second swissQprint machine at their Northern Ireland facility. We greatly value their trust in our machines and look forward to supporting their demand for their unique specialist and varied applications.”

University of Cambridge Estates Division’s Reprographics Centre installs Mimaki CJV150-130 in reponse to increased demand
T
he Reprographics Centre at the University of Cambridge has purchased a Mimaki CJV150-130 in response to an increasing demand for wide format print work. The centre was running an old aqueous printer but in response to demand for more wide format
work such as external signage, as well as other applications including promotional material, it identified the need to invest in a new printer that ran non-water-soluble inks. The Mimaki CJV150-130 was purchased from Soyang Hardware in February and was up and running
by March, in time to help print papers ahead of the busy university exam season.
Nik Palmer, reprographics manager for The Reprographics Centre, said: “Its small footprint, along with the print speed and quality, made it stand out most of all the machines that we looked at.
“Since the machine was installed in March, we haven’t stopped using it. Demand for wide format printing is ever increasing and we took delivery of the new Mimaki at just the right time.” Key features on the Mimaki CJV150-130 include a top printing speed of 56.2sq m/hr and a production speed of 11.1sq m/hr. It can print at resolutions as high as 1440dpi and has the ability to print and cut at widths of up to 1.36m.
