ichfield-based brand activation company Coolshock, is running the new HP Latex 1500 printer alongside its existing HP Latex 330 and HP Latex 700 machines. Coolshock has purchased a new HP Latex 1500 printer, to bring more superwide format print work in-house, allowing it to significantly speed up production and maximise profit on print projects.
The 3.2m wide machine offers print speeds of up to 74sq m/hr, and has already been used to produce an expansive range of work that was previously being outsourced. This switch-up means Coolshock can
deliver almost all services in house. Coolshock’s managing director, Paul Hulston, said: “Having the HP Latex 1500 means we have more flexibility to turn jobs around quickly and check quality at the point of print. This helps us to avoid any issues on site when it is too late.”
Work currently being run on the new printer includes block-out fabric for exhibitions stands, as well as backlit fabrics for use on stands and at airports. Other applications include printed and cut vinyl for wrapping furniture and wallpaper for branding clients’ offices.
Mr Hulston added: “We are hoping

Second EFI Pro 16h is ordered by
Quadrant2Design P
oole-based Quadrant2Design has ordered a second EFI Pro 16h UV LED hybrid printer from CMYUK. Ross Pike, operations director at Quadrant2Design, said: “We’ve invested in a second EFI Pro 16h to increase capacity and build in a level of redundancy.”
James Vicefield, marketing manager at Quadrant2Design, said: “Everything is done in-house, nothing is subcontracted out from the design, printing, finishing, installation, project management, and logistics. The new Pro 16h will help us maintain this.”
Mr Pike added: “Over the past 12 months, we have printed over 14,000sq m of flooring alone. Our investment in the EFI Pro 16h printers has been a major contribution to our success, and the installation of a second model will increase capacity, increase volume output, and support further growth.” The second model will be used solely for printing exhibition floors.
