ary Bagstaff, managing director of Print Sauce, has been appointed as the new vice president of the British Sign & Graphics Association. This follows an announcement made in June that the organisation has amicably separated from the ISA to rebrand back to the BSGA. CEO at BSGA, Craig Brown, said: “These are extremely exciting times for the association. We will maintain excellent close ties to the ISA and everything they can offer, while also ensuring we focus fully on supporting the UK sign industry.


“We are delighted to appoint an energetic, successful sign maker in Gary to this important role.”


Mr Bagstaff added: “Being entrusted with the role of vice president is a tremendous honour. I am confi dent that by collaborating with David, Craig, and the rest of the team, we will make signifi cant positive contributions to our industry and to sign-makers of all sizes. I am certain that our members will benefi t greatly from their involvement with the BSGA, and I eagerly anticipate assisting in any way possible.”


He will work alongside the current president, David Allen of Allen Signs. Mr Bagstaff began his journey in the signage industry as a trainee estimator at a renowned signage company in Cardiff. He established Print Sauce from his kitchen table after being made redundant in 2010.


New managing director at Astra Group A F


stra Group has welcomed David Mulligan to the business, in the role of managing director of its


signage and digital division.


It is a signifi cant appointment as Mr Mulligan brings over 15 years’ signage and manufacturing expertise to the business. In the newly created role, he will be responsible for driving Astra Group forward in its next phase of expansion, as the business increases its national and international footprint and further extends its suite of digital and traditional signage services.

Mr Mulligan will be responsible for all design, fabrication, and installation services including the newly created project delivery team led by Tony Bright, which allows the business to take further works on as principal contractor and


continue with its expansion journey. Mr Mulligan said: “I am delighted to join Astra Group, a well-established and respected company, and to have the opportunity to support, advise, and strengthen a wonderful team.” CEO of Astra Group, Jim Kerr, said: “It is with great pleasure that I welcome Dave to the business as managing director of our expanding signage and digital division.” Coinciding with the appointment of Mr Mulligan is the promotion of Stephen Burns to operations director. Formerly the head of production, Mr Burns joined Astra Group in September 2023, after acting as operations manager at isGroup.


Mutoh Europe appoints new managing director


rank Schenk has been appointed as the new managing director of Mutoh Europe and Mutoh Deutschland, effective from July 1.


In this new role, Mr Schenk will be overseeing all sales, pre-sales, logistics, marketing, product and application support as well as after-sales support activities for Mutoh throughout the EMEA business area. Mr Schenk, who has been general manager sales for Mutoh since July 2021, will be taking over the role of managing director from Mitsuo Takatsu, who has been leading the company since 2020. During his tenure, Mr Takatsu has been focusing

on strengthening the company’s existing sales and marketing framework and to prepare Mutoh for sustainable growth in the EMEA area. Since the summer of 2021, Mr


Takatsu has been working closely with Mr Schenk to implement further enhancements and drive the change process forward. Mr Schenk said: “I am eager to continue the successful path set by Mitsuo Takatsu together with our newly formed management team and with the continued support of our experienced and dedicated Mutoh teams in Belgium and Germany. I am confi dent in the future business development of Mutoh in the EMEA region.”
