G2 Esports names Kingston Fury as official gaming memory partner
Earlier this year, G2 Esports named Kingston FURY as its official high-performance gaming RAM memory partner. Ann Keefe, Regional Director for UK & Ireland at Kingston Technology, tells us more.
T
he worldwide partnership will see Kingston FURY’s random access memory (DRAM), flash memory and solid-state drive (SSD) gaming products be used
by G2. For Kingston FURY the partnership will increase its
exposure in front of G2’s 35 million fans worldwide. 80% of G2’s global fanbase sit in the prized 18-34 demographic and G2 boasted 5.8bn impressions across all of its social media channels in 2020. While an increasing number of global brands are recognising that esports allow them to tap into a global, engaged millennial audience, Kingston has always seen the power behind gaming and esports and is thrilled to continue to expand and support. Kingston has a long history with G2 Esports, who previously
sponsored its founder Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodríguez when he was a pro- player at SK Gaming. Ann Keefe, Regional Director for UK & Ireland at Kingston Technology had this to say.
What led to G2 Esports selecting Kingston FURY for its gaming RAM? G2 and Kingston already have a great long-standing relationship that’s mutually beneficial. Kingston is the world’s largest independent memory manufacturer, and a key provider of essential components in all gaming PCs, including both memory and SSD storage devices. G2 on the other hand is an esports powerhouse and a great gaming brand. Since we’ve been advocating esports for some time now, it makes sense that we’d choose G2 as a partner, and together we’re a formidable force.
What does this partnership mean for the gaming community? With greater promotion of Kingston’s high performance, reliable PC hardware, it helps gamers to know they’re getting quality components for their PC. With two trusted gaming-focused giants working together, we like to think esports players will know they can trust both brands to deliver great experiences.
What RAM products will be used? We’ll be promoting DDR5 memory for the latest PC gaming systems with our powerful Kingston Beast DDR5 range, and for other systems we’ll be promoting Kingston Renegade DDR4 RGB, which

is a remarkable product with the addition of superb RGB to bring PC designs to life. Both products are engineered with gamers and enthusiasts in mind so we’re excited to reintroduce our products to an even wider audience.
How will it improve gaming performance? Kingston is always striving for the best in all aspects of our product design, whether it’s our top-end performance, coming from supporting the fastest possible memory speeds, or industry-leading reliability. All our products
come with an extensive warranty, and we offer free tech support too.
Has the global shortage in semiconductors impacted the memory market, if so how? Increased demand over the last few years has stretched resources in every market, but we see the impact on memory supply being slightly less pronounced than in CPUs or graphics. It’s a situation we continue to monitor.
Where do you see the future of the esports and gaming community headed? Te easy answer is growth. Tere are many territories where
esports is just taking off and has plenty of room to attract more players ready to compete on a global level. But existing markets show no sign of slowing either. We think the metaverse and the technology that surrounds it will have a big part to play in esports, and greater connectivity will drive even more interest in the industry.
What other projects, initiatives or industry partnerships is Kingston currently involved in? Besides our partnership with G2 we also partner with Cloud 9 and Team Liquid.
Can you remind us of Kingston’s long history with G2 Esports, and its previous sponsorship of Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodríguez when he was a pro-player at SK Gaming? G2 is unique among the community since it was founded by Carlos, who is a champion esports player and therefore knows the industry inside and out. He also knows Kingston well, as we sponsored his former team, SK Gaming, known for winning multiple tournaments across a multitude of competitive games.
