only when logistics, staffing, digital support and supplier partnerships are fully in place. It’s about quality of execution, not speed of expansion.”
The Future of Cycling Retail What does the next decade of cycling retail look like? At Evans Cycles, we believe it will be defined by trust, loyalty and partnerships. As we grow, we remain focused on improving our customer
mechanics. Helping meet today’s demand while raising the bar for technical excellence across the UK cycling scene. On top of this, our upcoming flagship stores will take our ambitions for the brand to the next level. These larger- format locations will be destinations in their own right, with expanded showrooms, elevated brand experiences, same-day transfers between stores and larger full-service workshops. They’re designed to showcase the full breadth of the modern cycling experience, from family bikes and utility e-bikes to high-end road and mountain bikes, all under one roof.
And while the UK remains our focus, European expansion is firmly on our radar – but we’ll approach it with precision. We’ve learned from both our successes and challenges at home, and we know sustainable growth starts with getting the fundamentals right. Cycling culture, infrastructure and buying habits vary widely across Europe, and any move we make will be based on local understanding, not assumptions. We’ll target markets where we can offer something distinctive, and

service and delivering on the promises we make. That means investing more in premium courier options to ensure bikes arrive on time and in perfect condition. It means building loyalty that goes beyond the transaction, exclusive offers, early access to launches and community perks that keep riders engaged and coming back. Partnerships will also shape the future. From working closely with suppliers and manufacturers to continue offering the best range and choice, to collaborating with organisations like Cycling UK or Forest Holidays to promote active lifestyles. There is huge value in alliances that align with our mission. Our ambition doesn’t stop at retail. We’re passionate about raising industry standards, not just through our services and training, but by fostering a culture that champions professionalism, accessibility and innovation in cycling. But ultimately, the future of cycling retail isn’t just about selling more bikes; it’s about growing the culture of cycling itself. If we can inspire more people to ride, the entire industry benefits. Evans Cycles has been part of the UK’s cycling story for
over a century. It’s been a journey of ups and downs, but the road ahead is exciting and we’re just getting started. With the backing of Frasers Group and a clear vision for the future, we’re not just keeping pace with change; we’re helping shape what comes next. From reimagining the store experience to embracing omnichannel retailing and looking beyond the UK, our focus is on sustainable, customer- centric growth.
