ost readers will be aware of DAD, having been a significant Distributor in the UK market since the 1990s. The award winning Company underwent

a change of ownership in 2022, but the core values and culture of the business remained. DAD continues to operate from the same 200,000 sq ft warehouse in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire and maintains the same comprehensive range of stock, focus on fulfilling customer needs and offering first class service. The ‘Distributor of Choice’ for many Retailers, here’s a bit more about DAD, their operation and their history.

Over the past 30 years, DAD has grown to become the UK’s largest Distributor of major and small domestic appliances. The company delivers to England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, as well as the Channel Islands and Scottish Islands. They are renowned for their first class delivery service, width and depth of stock and exclusive products from a wide variety of Manufacturers, providing a one stop shop for Customers. As well as servicing Retailers,

DAD supply to the National and Regional Housebuilders and Contract markets. DAD has strong market presence with its own brand Iceking, which was established in 1995 and is now a household name. The range is ever expanding and evolving as trends and consumer demands change, as well as energy ratings, and specification requirements. The range is known for its value for money, reliability and durability in cooling products, and provides a two year guarantee giving consumers peace of mind.

The Company has a longstanding and loyal team who care deeply about the business and its Customers. From Sales to Credit Control, Marketing to Transport, Warehouse and everyone in between, the team has built valued Customer relationships over the years and ensure that Customers receive a personable, knowledgeable and efficient service every time. A team of 9 Regional and National Sales Managers support the Customer base, as well as a team of 6 in Internal Sales. Most postcodes are serviced at least twice a week as standard, and next day deliveries are offered to

Customers as well as delivery on specific days outside of the standard delivery schedule. The Company prides itself in operating with sustainability at its heart, offering in house recycling facilities to Customers, using renewable energy to power the office and warehouse, and using state of the art IT systems to plan vehicle journeys as efficiently as possible to reduce mileage and carbon emissions. The success of the business over the years has been through working closely with Retailers to understand their needs, deliver to their price and stock holding budgets, and support them to range the most appropriate products for their customer base. Whilst the UK market has been a challenge of late, the business is upbeat and excited to see what the future holds. It remains focused on what their Customers need; competitive pricing, a wide range of stock, brands and availability, quick delivery and first class service; all delivered by a friendly and knowledgeable team.
