It’s not a huge space, but the new landscaping display at Elliotts’ Lymington branch packs a surprisingly large variety of product, as Fiona Russell Horne found out.

hen Elliotts, the Hampshire- based independent builders merchant developed a new site on the edge of the New Forest to form its new Lymington


branch, it was left with an area of the yard that needed some TLC to make it work. The branch sits on a corner site of a busy industrial estate, which means that the spare area has frontage onto two roads, and, therefore huge visibility. It was initially just used to form part of the yard, adding a bit of extra parking, however, it simply made sense to turn it into a landscaping display area, says digital marketing executive Emma McTaggart. “The company that we used to design the


display panels work primarily on exhibition stands, so they are very adept at creating visually stunning, adaptable displays in smaller spaces,” she says.


“The display area is used by a range of customer types, from landscapers to general householders. Many landscapers send their customers down here to have a look at the designs for themselves. “


The display features a range of products from fencing and sleepers to walling and paving. There’s also a gazebo and decking. McTaggart says that the display boards on the backwall are easily removeable so that they can be switched around and changed when suppliers change styles or ranges.
