Kellaway Ltd was established with the opening of the Horfield branch at 176-180 Kellaway Avenue in June 1982. It has grown steadily since then and now has 16 branches from Marlborough and Wincanton, to Nailsea, Swndon and Worcester, as well as all round its Bristol heartland.

TRAILBLAZERS
Kent Blaxill
In October 2022, Kent Blaxill was sold to PaintWell Ltd, the Liverpool-based decorators merchant chain that’s owned by Cairngorm Capital. The enlarged group will have 46 branches stretching from Cumbria to Kent, with 250 employees and combined revenues of £55m. A recent move has been to bring PaintWell, Kent Blaxill and Promain under one executive board.
PaintWell on their own were below the threshold for Trailblazers, so the figures are for Kent Blaxill. The inclusion of both in the League Tables is to illustrate where the two companies lie comparative with their peers.
Prior to the acquisition, Kent Blaxill had been expanding the decorators merchants side of the business.
New branches opened in Kettering in Northamptonshire,
West Thurrock in Essex, and Sevenoaks in Kent. In the Summer, the company also acquired the Norwich decorating retailer Paints & Paper Ltd.
