Boys & Boden originally operated as a sawmill in Darlaston, Staffordshire. Cousins, Henry Boys Boden and Frank Albert Boys officially founded the company in 1895.

Doors, Boys & Boden have a variety of specialist sites including their Chester Showroom and DIY Superstore, while subsiduary Pear Stairs is a leading manufacturer and supplier of bespoke staircases.
