FLEXIBLE FRANCHISING

You’re in control... ...with NIC Local – of your freedom, flexibility and financial rewards

– yes, I work hard, but I definitely make a considerate effort to have things in my life that I really enjoy.

F

ranchisees often cite 'work-life balance' as one of the main advantages of running their business because

often a franchise can put you in control of where you work, when and for how much of your day. All of which means you can

focus on growth when you need to, but also make time for your self and your family. For Nuzy Ali and Matthew Sammons, NIC Local’s commercial cleaning franchise brought life-transforming possibilities.. Both Nuzy and Matthew

each sought to change their day-to-day lives to fit in with the needs of home and family, and do so in ways that still served their ambitions, and desire to run a successful businesses.

Nuzy on maintaining flexibility for family As a single mum raising four children, I always wanted the opportunity to run my own business while balancing family life. When my youngest started nursery, I moved into a full-time telesales role, but the ambition to work for myself never went away. The change came about when

“The key to business is balance”

I discovered NIC Local. From day one, the team welcomed me wholeheartedly and gave me the confidence, guidance and support to take the next step. Their encouragement and belief in me made all the difference. Joining NIC Local felt like the

start of a new chapter in my career. Being part of a supportive network of experienced people has helped me build a successful business while maintaining the flexibility I wanted for my family.

Matthew on what spurred him on to change course: I was in the bar and leisure industry for about 12 years and the issue was, having a young family, that working until 4 o'clock in the morning just wasn't great! So I wanted to become my own boss. I think the key to every business

is having a balance. I've seen a massive difference in me as a person. Being able to take time out to go and watch the kids play sports has been huge for me. I've actually felt better! It is a balance

Both franchisees credit NIC Local’s head office support and the teams that they have around them with helping them drive growth. Nusy: I have a really good Business Development Manager, literally just an email or a call away. The first couple of years, when I would go to sites where I had a new contract, because I was in a learning stage, they would always be there to support me. They could be there for as long as you need them. Weekends? I don't work, there's

no need to. I've got two area supervisors, so they manage and look after any aspects required over those two days. I'm always grateful to my team, because without them I don't think any of this would be possible.

Matthew: One of the biggest advantages of being part of NIC Local is the strength of the support behind the business. From payroll and compliance to tender support and industry accreditations, there is an experienced team helping with the essential functions that can otherwise take valuable time away from growing your business. That support allows franchise

owners to focus on winning new contracts, developing customer relationships and driving growth. As my business has expanded, it has also given me the ability to step back from the day-to-day operations, take a more strategic view and build a strong team around me. The result is a business that is scalable, sustainable and positioned for long-term success. 
